Last night, Rose attended the MTV Fandom Awards in San Diego with her iZombie co-stars Malcom Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Aly Michalka and David Anders. They got the honour of passing on the award “Best New Fandom” (as you probably remember; they won it last year!), which went to “Shadowhunters: the mortal instruments”. They also attended the “Power Rangers” Party Presented by Nerdist after the show.

The first batch of HQ photos have been added to our gallery, but there are a lot more coming up! Stay tuned later tonight for many, gorgeous additions. Thank you so much to my friend Steph for helping with the first photos.

As most of you are probably aware of, the annual San Diego Comic Con is held this weekend! Rose is set to attend for her third year in row. The SDCC weekend has become a big one here at Rose McIver Online and in the Rose community, and we can’t wait for it to start! Photos, videos, information… All to be expected – and in big batches 😉 While we eagerly await the convention, we decided to warm up by taking a look at the last two years’…

San Diego Comic-Con International is a multi-genre entertainment and comic convention held annually in San Diego, California. It was founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970 by a group of San Diegans, which included Shel Dorf, Richard Alf, Ken Krueger, and Mike Towry; later, it was called the “San Diego Comic Book Convention”. The name, as given on its website, is Comic-Con International: San Diego; but it is commonly known simply as Comic-Con or the San Diego Comic-Con or “SDCC”. It is a four-day event (Thursday–Sunday) held during the summer at the San Diego Convention Center in San Diego, California. On the Wednesday evening prior to the official opening of the event, there is a preview for professionals, exhibitors, and select guests pre-registered for all four days.

(Photo left: Rose at the Batman 75th Anniversary And ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Unveil ‘Cape/Cowl/Create’ Art Exhibit at SDCC. More photos here.) When it was announced Rose would attend the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con, the excitement was big. They were currently working on the first season of iZombie, and fans were looking forward to receive more information about the upcoming show. It was apparent that it already had many fans, even before the pilot episode had aired! Rose went to San Diego with her co-stars David Anders, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley and Malcolm Goodwin, and the show creators Diane Ruggiero and Rob Thomas.

In their iZombie panel we learned a lot of fun facts, such as; Rose was the 100th actress to audition for the part! We also found out more about the show premise, the weekly format and how Rose found it easy to play a zomibe, but difficult to play a med student because of the vocabulary. The reviews were clear; this was a group of actors with a lot of charm, and they did amazingly at building up the hype around the show.

We were also given a galore of photos, making the weekend even better! Rose attended many different events during the convention, even a couple of portrait sessions. She wore different outfits to almost all of them – let’s take a look at her 2014 SDCC looks…

(In the 4th photo, Rose is wearing a Carlo Pazolini Handbag in black/white, a Sans Souci Blue & White stripe skirt and a AQ AQ Monica Halter Crop Top with Racer Front.)

It’s safe to say she looked stunning in all of them. But which of her 2014 looks were your favorite? Vote below…

Rose’s second San Diego Comic Con was held almost a month after the season finale of the first iZombie season in 2016. By then, iZombie had built up quite an impressive fanbase, and everyone was buzzing for the convention to kick off! And what an amazing start to the weekend they got… The cast attended the MTV Fandom Awards in San Diego the day before the convention, where they picked up the award “Best New Fandom”. (To the right: Photo of Rose dedicating the award to the fans. All photos of the cast accepting it can be found in our gallery here.)

And then the fun began! Unlike in 2014, Rose only attended the convention on one day (July 10). But oh did she keep busy! She managed to attend the iZombie panel and fan signing, appeared at SiriusXMs EW Radio Show, was in the Photo Booth and did a total of 3 different portrait session, visited the Nintendo Lounge on the TV Guide Magazine Yacht, and last but not least: the Warner Bros. Television’s Comic-Con 2015 Cocktail Media Mixer (with Leah Pipes from The Originals and Emily Bett Rickards from Arrow). And then there was all the interviews… (you can check out screen captures from pretty much all the interviews Rose made in our master post here)

One kind soul uploaded the entire iZombie panel to youtube for us, so that we who were sadly stuck on the other site of the world and couldn’t attend in person, could watch it! If you haven’t seen it before, make sure to check it out below… And if you have, maybe rewatching it as we wait for this year’s iZombie panel could be fun?

Hello Rose fans! The iZombie cast are now back on the set in Vancouver, ready to start making the third season of the show. We have uploaded the first photo of Rose back in Liv costume to our gallery, where she is posing with Malcolm Goodwin (Clive) and make up artist Amber Trudeau. Remember though – the show will unfortunately NOT return on our screens this year, but are set for a 2017 mid-season premiere. While we wait, we will keep you updated on everything that goes around on the set, including providing you with all the on set films and photos we can find.

Source | The Complete Second Season of iZombie is now available on DVD – you can get your own copy here – and it all comes together in a 4-disc package with all 19 episodes and some extras. iZombie Season 2 is also apparently available on Blu-ray via the Warner Archive if that is something you’d prefer, but this review is covering the DVD version that we were provided with.

Here’s how Warner Bros. Home Entertainment describes the set:

Power up with your favorite brain food, and prepare for more fun and thrills! iZOMBIE stars Rose McIver as Olivia “Liv” Moore, a medical resident on the fast track to a perfect life … until she’s turned into a zombie. But Liv finds her calling — and an endless supply of food — working at the Seattle coroner’s office, helping to solve crimes with her “visions,” while her boss and sole confidante, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti, works on a cure for her unthinkable condition. As season two begins, Liv’s ex-fiancé and love, Major, is reeling from recent events and the knowledge that Liv is a zombie. Meanwhile, Blaine — now human — struggles to maintain his zombie world; Clive searches for Blaine and suspects Major’s involvement in the Meat Cute massacre; and Ravi remains devoted to finding an antidote to the zombie virus. Unlikely alliances will be struck, relationships will be challenged and the line between good and evil will blur for both zombies and the fully living.

So, what did we think?

The Episodes: iZombie is one of those shows where I admit I don’t always get to watch every week — I’m often on a high after watching The Flash — but after I do, I usually love it. Rose McIver’s Liv is, of course, the main reason to watch, especially with the different reactions she has after ingesting brains. The rest of the supporting cast is flanked by some really good guest stars who weave in and out throughout the season. Some characters like Major go down dark paths, and other characters face new situations and unfamiliar territory.

Season 2 even gives us a look at zombies who aren’t as good looking as Liv Moore, and it’s all wrapped in a well-written, well-produced package. I like that the show mixes procedural elements with drama, danger, and comedy. It’s hard to balance, but they usually pull it off.

The Extras: And here is where this set, like the Season 1 iZombie DVD set, kind of fails. This show has producers and a cast who engage fans often, at conventions and on Twitter and other mediums. So why the heck are there no behind-the-scenes videos or commentaries? The 2015 Comic-Con panel extra is great, but I really wanted more.

Deleted scenes are also available for the episodes “Grumpy Old Liv,” “Love & Basketball,” “Abra Cadaver,” “Cape Town,” “Method Head,” “Fifty Shades of Grey Matter,” “The Whopper,” and “Dead Beat,” so there are at least some reasons to pick up the DVD set rather than just waiting for Netflix.

The Final Verdict: I’ve already said that I wish there were more extras, but I’m also very disappointed that Blu-ray wasn’t the regular release plan for this. At least there, we could get a visual experience unlike anything we’d get on Netflix or watching on broadcast. Now, to be fair, I could go out and order that Blu-ray, but it’d be nicer if that had been the default thing to be available. Definitely worth getting if you love iZombie, and the episodes are absolutely worth seeing, even if you don’t bite the brain and pick up a set for yourself.

Cuteness alert! Remember that it was announced Rose’s iZombie character would become a SDDCC Funko Pop! Exclusive? Funko has released an article explaining (and showing!) how the Olivia Moore pop! came to life. Read on for details – and click the “Continue Reading” button for the full story.

Source | We recently announced the Olivia Moore Pop! as a SDCC 2016 exclusive, and we are so thrilled to add iZombie to the Pop! family! We thought it would be fun to show you the step-by-step process of how this Pop! was created!

Knowing that the concept artist Greg Ham is a big iZombie fan, we asked him what it was like to be tasked with the job of designing this Olivia Moore Pop!

“As a huge fan of the iZombie television show, it was VERY exciting to hear that we had secured the license to create Pop!s for the series,” said Greg. “What I love about working on Funko’s Art Team is that we are almost always assigned projects based on what we are interested in so that we put our passion for the property into our work. I really think that passion is reflected in the final product. I truly hope iZombie fans are as excited and pleased with the Olivia Moore POP as I am.”

Find this Pop! at SDCC this year – and keep an eye out for more from iZombie soon!

Stage 1: Concept Art  This concept art is then submitted to the licensor for review! Liv was designed by Greg Ham.

Lead star Rose McIVer revealed that her character Liv Moore will not be the only zombie who will take on characteristics after eating the brian. She also shared some of what she knows about the upcoming season 3 of “iZombie.”

In an interview with DC Entertainment, she said fans should see what is in store for Liv and her gang now that everybody is in the know about the existence of zombies. She said “I’m really excited that that kind of dyamic shift will kind of open up a bunch of other humor … I think.”

She also revealed that while the brain of the week will still continue, “Other zombies will be taking on other characters as well. So that, that should change the playing field a bit.” She shared her excitement about seeing other cast members sing and dance and mentioned specifically wanting Major (Robert Buckley) to eat a ballerina’s brain. She also said that there will be a battle between zombies of her kind and the type that causes harm to living human beings.

Asked about characters she wants to see in the next season, she revealed to be a fan of Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) and Dale (Jessica Harmon). McIver shared that Clive and Dale are her OTP (One True Pairing) and she wanted Dale to go back to the show and be in the know as well. She also shared that she was sad upon receiving the script that contained the death of Liz’s boyfriend, but she was more devastated upon learning of the other pair’s breakup.

A new villain will be introduced in season 3 after the deaths of Vaughn Du Clark and his daughter Rita. The new owner of Max Rager has made her appearance in the finale and she came with an army of zombies that kill uncontrollable undeads.

During the CW Upfronts on May 19, Rose was interviewed by DC All-Access. It’s a bit old now, but since Rose news are non-existing at the moment, we decided to share it! Screen captures will be added to our gallery in a few.

The second season of iZombie turned everything upside down and changed the dynamics between almost all of the characters. DC All-Access’ Tiffany Smith caught up with series star Rose McIver to talk about what is in store for Liv Moore and her friends in Seattle. How things will change now that Clive Babineaux (Malcolm Goodwin) is now in the know and what it will be like when the other zombies in the series start eating brains and taking on new personality traits.
