Another Rose bday / iZombie season 2 premiere celebration update! We hope you’re enjoying the ones we’ve done so far; this is another cool one, so keep on reading 😉 Before we start, we want to remind you all to join our birthday project for Rose. There is only a few more days until October 10, so keep adding them everyone! Check this post for more information and how to participate.

We have update our gallery with some rare and exclusive pics! Some from events; Moët & Chandon Imperial Auction to Raise Money for Oxfam Party, “Blood Brothers” Musical – Opening Night in Auckland, “What We Do in The Shadows” Premiere, and Rialto Channel New Zealand Film Awards – we had these on our old site, but they got lost in the move. We adore this look – some of you will probably notice she wears the same dress as at the Audi Golden Globes Weekend Cocktail Party the same year, which is one of our favorites of hers. It was also voted your favorite outfit of Rose’s in our old fashion archive, so I’m sure you’ll love these! We have also added one from a play Rose did at school (Bye Bye Birdie at the Avondale College in 2005), NZ Film Awards 2013 – Make Up Practice Run with her sister in law and make up artist Philippa Mae, and one from an audition she attended in 2007. Enjoy!

As we get closer and closer to the season two premiere of our favorite show, the iZombie cast is currently doing a badass #iZombieBadassCountdown on twitter; and we decided to post the videos here for those of you who’s not on the social network. Rose, Rahul and Malcolm explains in the first video what this whole thing is, so check out that one for more information! They must surely be the best cast on TV right now? (click read more below the first video to watch them all)

Article from about the project: The cast of iZombie is producing a series of ultra-short (Vine-length or so) videos honoring their favorite “bad-ass women” from the screen, and they’re an absolute delight. Here’s a thing, though: That’s hardly surprising from this bunch. At Comic-Con International: San Diego in 2014, a number of reporters including myself got to meet with the cast of The CW’s iZombie before most of us had even seen any footage from the series.

Based on Chris Roberson and Mike Allred’s Vertigo series, iZombie came to TV from Veronica Mars co-creators Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright. It was expected to debut its pilot at Comic-Con that year, but a pair of characters had to be recast and they ended up showing only selected clips…in a panel that most of us in the press room couldn’t make it to.

As a result, there was a general sense that the show might be in trouble, fueled in part by the pilot reshoots and not helped by a fan base questioning why the show was even using the iZombie name when so many elements of the comic had been changed for the screen.

Then, as you’d expect we might at a press event, we met the cast. Charming, funny, engaged and enthusiastic about the project, every member of the iZombie cast impressed me, and I heard the same thing from a number of other reporters present. At the time, I remember thinking they had something special if the show was half as much fun as just seeing these people riff off one another. Of course, it was.

Fast forward a year and the show is about to debut its second season. The cast? As mentioned above, they’re putting together this series of Vine videos paying tribute to kick-ass female protagonists, from Wonder Woman to Kill Bill. They’re having fun doing it, and the videos themselves are priceless. Not all of them have been released yet, but you can see the ones that have below.

[Article Source] It’s all or nothing for Kiwi actress Rose McIver, who’s setting out to leave her mark on the world.

She’s worked on a host of Kiwi productions, from Shortland Street to Legend of the Seeker to Peter Jackson’s The Lovely Bones.

Now though, she’s now best known for playing brain-eating crime-solver Liv Moore on US television show iZombie.

This sees her living full time in LA, and while she talks fondly about missing New Zealand, she’s calling California home.

“I miss the seasons. That with the way the sky changes you’re able to start anew. It gives you some markers in the year and without that it’s kind of strange, it’s one really long, hot day,” she says.

“And I would love to do projects back home, but really I just want to work on something that I adore and wherever that takes me is where I’ll go.”

Where that’s taken her now is into sci-fi/horror territory.

Her character is a zombie who has to eat brains to stay alive. She takes on the memories and character traits of whoever’s brain it was, and uses the insight to solve crime.

Yet she says being a zombie is the least important part of the show.

“We call it a zom-com-rom-drama,” McIver laughs.
Ad Feedback

“Liv’s just a girl who’s had a really painful relationship break-up and change of career path and is still trying to work out her own identity. She’s in her mid-20s, and I look around at myself and a lot of my friends who have experienced a lot of these things where you’ve just got to assess your connections with people and what you’re doing with your life and your meaning.”

But McIver’s selling herself short. She’s been living in LA for five years and is now on a show which gives her stability and steady work for the foreseeable future – something she says is a luxury in the entertainment business.

“It’s great to be able to build a character that you know and can stay with for a couple of years, that’s really fantastic and you develop great relationships with people you work with and you’re able to play more as an actor, I think,” she says.

That said, she’s not ruling out any more film or theatre work or even moving back home, it’s all just a matter of finding the right project.

“I don’t want to ever be somewhere wishing I was somewhere else, so while I’m here this is home, but I’m very open to seeing what the next few years brings.”

iZombie season two is fast tracked to TVNZ On Demand from October 6.

‘ello Rose fans! We’ve teamed up with Tony & Stéphanie and created a birthday project for our beloved Rose, to show her how much we love and admire her. And we need your help! For it to be a success, we need as many of her fans as possible to join in with us.

Participating in our project is very easy, and something anyone can do regardless of graphic skills. What you need to do is upload a photo (a photo of yourself, a photo of Rose, a drawing, a graphic, a birthday cake – or literally ANYTHING you want!) with your message on it to wish her a happy birthday. (example here, here) For those who do not have photo software, you can do it at  PiZap or PixLr. It’s up to you how long you make the message – it can be a simple “Happy Birthday Rose!”, or it can be a  long message. We’re setting no rules – it’s up to each of you, and your own creativity!

When your photo is all ready, just click on the link below and then on « Upload Photos » to share your file.

We will send the link to Rose on her birthday (October, 10), and we’ll do our very best to get her to see it. I know it would mean so much to Rose, so join in everyone! She’s always such a sweetheart to us fans, and she spends a lot of time interacting with us, doing AskRose’s on twitter and more… So now let’s give her something back!!
